To set up IPTV on a Samsung or LG Smart TV, you need two things: a compatible player app and the correct subscription details. Installing a player alone does not add channels. Follow this checklist before buying an app licence or changing your TV settings.
1. Check your TV and subscription details
- Find the TV brand, model and software version in its settings.
- Connect the TV to the internet and check that its app store opens.
- Have your activation message ready. Check your email spam folder if you cannot find it.
- Close playback on another device: an SOS IPTV subscription includes one simultaneous connection.
App availability depends on your TV model and store region. Before paying for a player, ask support whether it supports both your TV and the login format supplied with your subscription. A player licence and an IPTV subscription are separate products.
Still choosing a service? Use the IPTV service comparison checklist and review the SOS IPTV channel lineup before purchasing.
2. Install a compatible player
Samsung Smart TV
Press Home or Smart Hub, open Apps and search for the agreed player. Check the app name and publisher, then select Install. You may need to sign in to your Samsung account. Menu names differ between TV generations.
LG Smart TV
Open Apps or the LG Content Store from the Home screen. Search for the player, open its listing and install it if your model supports it. If the app is missing, check compatibility with support rather than assuming an Android installation file will work on the TV.
3. Add the subscription in the correct format
Open the player and choose the login method that matches your activation message. Labels vary by app:
- Username, password and server URL: enter each value in its own field. Do not use your website or email password unless it is explicitly the supplied player password.
- Playlist URL: paste the complete supplied address into the playlist field. Do not paste it into a username field.
- Device ID or MAC activation: follow the instructions for that particular player and confirm the device identifier with support.
Check spaces, capital letters and the complete server address before saving. Keep your playlist URL and password private. Allow the channel list to finish loading, then play one channel. If the player provides an EPG or TV guide refresh option, use it after the list has loaded.
4. Identify the problem before reinstalling
| What you see | What to check first |
|---|---|
| App not found | TV model, store region and app compatibility. |
| Login rejected | Login format, complete credentials and subscription status. |
| Channels load but will not play | Another active connection, then your TV network connection. |
| Playback stops repeatedly | Follow the buffering checklist before deleting the app. |
For support, send the TV model, player name, exact error and the step where setup stops. Remove passwords and playlist URLs from screenshots. This gives the support team useful information without exposing your login details.
